When illiterate mothers attend school with their children, they both learn - and chances for the children to complete their education increase dramatically.
We at Unread Mothers are a cooperative of charities, schools and NGOs working together to provide international volunteers to our member projects and programmes of similar character.
We place volunteers in short term and long term assignments in urban settings and in rural villages; in dormitory or home stay accommodation.
Each recipient programme is geared to welcome new volunteers into their society and to provide as many opportunities as possible to participate in the social and cultural events available in the community.
The work consists of teaching both mothers and children, but usually only children.
